2026Abu Dhabi, UAE: The UAE Journalists Association has announced its strong support for the National Campaign to Raise Awareness of Media Content Standards 2026, an initiative launched by the National Media Authority to strengthen responsible journalism and ensure high-quality media content across the country.
The nationwide campaign seeks to establish a safe, ethical, and professional media environment that encourages creativity and excellence while safeguarding the values and cultural identity of the United Arab Emirates.Her Excellency Fadheela Al-Muaini, Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors, said the rapid expansion of traditional and digital media platforms has increased the responsibility of journalists, media professionals, and content creators to uphold the highest standards of credibility and professionalism.
She stressed the importance of producing content that reflects awareness, culture, and national responsibility, while avoiding sensationalism, misinformation, and material that could offend individuals or society.“Freedom of expression is a fundamental civilizational value, but it must always be exercised with awareness, responsibility, and respect for the law,” Al-Muaini said. “Words should be a tool for building society, spreading knowledge, and strengthening social cohesion.
”She added that the Association values the UAE’s ongoing efforts to develop the media sector and enhance its contribution to national development, while reinforcing the country’s image as a global model of tolerance, openness, and respect for cultural and intellectual diversity.The UAE Journalists Association called on media institutions, journalists, content creators, and digital platform users to actively engage with the campaign and help promote a culture of responsible media.According to the Association, collective support for the initiative will play a vital role in raising public awareness, preserving national values, and ensuring that media continues to serve the public interest and support the UAE’s sustainable development goals.
